The Role

We are looking for a Bar Assistant to join our well-established Estates and Facilities Directorate at Canterbury Christ Church University

You will work as part of a team at Lounge Bar and Kitchen at St George’s Centre providing students with a great experience in a safe and responsible licenced environment. You will be the first point of contact to many students using the venue and provide each and every visitor with the best possible customer experience.

The Person

We are searching for a highly motivated individual with a flexible approach and be able to meet the expectations of providing a consistent and quality service to students, staff and external visitors.


The ideal candidate will be:

Customer focused
Delivering a first-class service to students, staff and external clients.
Able to support the Team Leader and Bar Manager with service delivery at St George’s Centre, as well as supporting any other licenced activities across the campus network
Willingness to learn new skills and develop as an individual
Working with the whole team to maximise student experience
Team player to be consistently working with colleagues to ensure the best service is offered
Be able to operate point of sale system for cash and card payments
