The School of Psychology is seeking to appoint a lecturer in Psychology focusing on research methods and statistics, to join a collegial and intellectually vibrant school.
You will join an energetic team of colleagues working across sub-disciplines including cognition and neuroscience, and social, forensic and developmental psychology.
The successful candidate is expected to design and deliver teaching methods and statistics in our UG programmes and contribute toward advanced methods and statistics in our PG programmes. Moreover, you will be expected to provide expertise, help and support in methodological and statistical questions for colleagues in Schools.

As a Lecturer in Psychology for Research Methods and Statistics, you will:
• Develop, deliver and assess excellent teaching and learning materials in a variety of settings across a range of modules and contribute to core teaching on Undergraduate and Postgraduate Taught programmes, particularly in research methods and statistics
• Conduct scholarship activity which may include research, internal and external dissemination of teaching practice, and the application of psychological concepts and methods in professional practice
• Focus the bulk of your educational activity on research methodology and statistics training at UG and/or PG levels
• Supervise students undertaking their final year project and MSc projects
• Pro-actively contribute to administration and to the collegial work environment
To be successful in the role you will have/be:
• A PhD (or equivalent) in Psychology, statistics or related discipline
• Publication(s) in referred psychological or methodology journals
• Experience in teaching basic (e.g. t-tests, correlations, regressions, ANOVA) and/or advanced (e.g. scale development, factor analysis, SEM, multilevel modelling, cluster analysis, multidimensional scaling)psychological methods and statistics
• Experience of delivering high-quality teaching in higher education commensurate with career stage
• Experience with statistical software used for teaching and supervision in the School (R)
