International Recruitment Officer

Kent and Medway NHS and Social Care Partnership Trust is one of the largest mental health trusts in the UK. We provide a wide range of services to people with mental health conditions, including inpatient care, community mental health teams, and specialist services.
As an international recruitment officer at our trust, you will be responsible for recruiting staff from overseas to work in our mental health services. You will work with a team of recruiters to source candidates, assess their suitability, and make job offers. You will also be responsible for providing support to new staff members as they settle into their roles.
We are looking for someone who is:

-Able to work independently and as part of a team
-An excellent communicator

Main duties of the job
The International Recruitment Officer will be responsible for supporting the end to end recruitment process for overseas nurses’ recruitment within the Trust.
The job holder will be responsible for delivering a professional service and positive experience for candidates and all stakeholders throughout the recruitment, advertising, assessment and on-boarding process; maintaining both electronic and manual systems in conjunction with variety of administrative and ad-hoc activities.
Identifying suitably skilled, experienced and motivated candidates for consideration. Co-ordinating interviews; preparing assessment tools; managing offer process and associated employment checks; maintaining required standards and best practice throughout the recruitment process.
Engaging with international candidates in order to build relationships to support them through the recruitment process and provide support for the immigration and visa process and the appropriate clinical body registrations for the UK.
In addition, work collaboratively with the existing Recruitment Manager and Assistant Recruitment Manager to support the day-to-day operation of the Recruitment team, ensuring the Recruitment process is carried out in a smooth and timely manner for the Trust. Provide information, advice and support to managers in order to facilitate the most efficient and effective resourcing of staff, ensuring that all proposals are consistent with legislation and meet the requirements of the customer.
Detailed job description and main responsibilities
-Using available networks, social, digital and online media to promote, attract and engage with overseas audiences to inform and convert interest of suitable applicants in to applications.
-Arranging and supporting assessment events; using online tools, standardised toolkits and the any necessary supporting material to provide a positive and effective process for panel members and candidates. Ensuring assessment events are populated with experienced, qualified and skilled candidates that will meet the skills requirements.
-Contribute effectively to the international recruitment process, adhering to key performance indicators set by the International Recruitment Team Leader and other management staff, where applicable.
-Deliver a timely and responsive service to managers ensuring effective relations are maintained. To support the International Recruitment Team Leader in the provision of advice and support in relation to Recruitment. This includes advising managers on the recruitment process, using own initiative and judgement to ensure correct procedures are met. Alert managers to possible complications, taking appropriate action to ensure a smooth and successful appointment.
-To promote a positive, proactive approach to international recruitment in the Trust, acting as an advocate for open, fair and transparent practices to ensure that the Trust operates best practice recruitment standards at all times.
-Provide managers with prompt and pragmatic problem-solving advice, with any issues escalated by the team being dealt with quickly and effectively.
-Take responsibility for co-ordinating the recruitment process from advertising to appointment in accordance with Trust recruitment policies and procedures and any legislative responsibilities.
-Ensure that all pre-employment checks are carried out satisfactorily before all candidates commence employment, including references, occupational health, Disclosure and Barring Service, right to work and work permits (if applicable), qualifications checks, checking of documents required for employment of international recruits.
-Monitor advertising process ensuring the information is accurate, relevant and presented in an appropriate and cost-effective format.
-To stay up to date with relevant employment law legislation, with a particular focus on home office and sponsorship requirements for international recruits.
-To develop and maintain an up to date knowledge of relevant policies and procedures including reviewing and developing these documents to support the interface between deployment and recruitment.
-To provide support in the pastoral care of international recruits, including but not limited to the booking of transportation, accommodation, training and the organisation of provisions required.
-Aid the development and maintenance of standard operating procedures in relation to international recruitment.
-To stay in contact with international recruits, meeting with them and providing support in their integration within the trust.
-Meeting with international recruits and supporting their integration within the trust, including
-To ensure that recruitment information on the Trust intranet site is timely, relevant and accurate.
-Undertake specific projects as guided by the recruitment management team.
