KMMS opened to its first cohort to students in 2020 and is now teaching the first three years of the five year Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery (BM BS) programme. KMMS has been created to be a beacon for first-class medical education and research. Bringing together the resources of the University of Kent and Canterbury Christ Church University, the whole ethos is one of partnership.
KMMS is investing in clinical and health research as a central pillar of its teaching and integration with local clinical services and communities, and in global health research with communities across the globe.
We are now seeking an enthusiastic and ambitious Postdoctoral Research Associate to complement the KMMS research group where you will contribute to the design and delivery of health-related research and teaching. You can also expect to get involved in the development of research funding applications to the UK and international funding bodies and to contribute to pedagogic research and supervision of student research within KMMS BM BS programme.
To be successful in this role you will have/be:
• PhD in health-related subject (basic and clinical medical sciences, psychology, social science, medical anthropology, pharmaceutical science, neuroscience) Candidates in the final stages of completing their degree are encouraged to apply provided that can provide a reference attesting that their PhD viva will be held prior to the start date for this role
• good knowledge and experience in carrying out mixed methods health research and qualitative and quantitative data analysis
• excellent interpersonal and team working skills
• enthusiasm and motivation for research
