Job Title: HR Advisor - WFH + *25 days AL + BH*
Location: Maidstone - Working from Home
Industry: Charitable Organisation
Hours: Monday-Friday 37.5 hours per week
Benefits: 25 days annual leave + bank holidays (increasing to 28 days annual leave after 5 years!), working for a fantastic, close knit team and many learning opportunities.
The purpose of your role is to provide a consistent and confidential HR Service, undertaking all generalist HR duties. Supporting the HR Manager and managing the HR Administrator to ensure an efficient and proactive HR service is provided. You must be able to confidently support internal Managers with employment law, disciplinary and grievance advice.
Your key responsibilities as the new HR Advisor would be to:
Employee Relations
* Act as first line of contact for all employee queries relating to terms and conditions, policies, benefits and other ad hoc queries.
* Develop good relationships with Line Managers across each business unit, coaching and providing advice on employment matters such as recruitment, disciplinaries, grievances, absence management and performance management and annual review processes.
* Support Managers in Disciplinary, Grievance and Probationary hearings, guiding and advising the Manager during the hearing and providing a robust case management throughout the process, attending on site meetings as required.
* Manage occupational health reviews and clearances.
Recruitment
* When required, drafting job descriptions and person specifications.
* Managing the advertising of roles as appropriate and assisting with screening CVs to facilitate recruitment tests as required.
* Assist with transition process for onboarding of new starters and administration required.
* Discuss and create recruitment campaigns to ensure all departments are at least 85% staffed at all times.
Employment Law, Policies and GDPR
* Have a thorough understanding of GDPR and HR law relating to contracts, terms and conditions, discrimination, maternity/ paternity, shared parental leave, dismissal processes, grievances, etc.
* Knowledge and understanding of all policies and their practical application to provide advice and support to staff at all levels.
Other duties:
* Travel to other sites nationally and occasional overnight stays.
* Work closely with and manage the HR Administrator.
Skills/Experience required:
* Strong HR Advisory experience and able to communicate confidently with Internal Managers
* CIPD level 3 qualification essential, Level 5 desirable
* Awareness of latest developments within employment legislation
* An excellent knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and HR systems
* Flexibility to travel nationally for meetings as required
