The Estates Team is an integral part of the larger Estates and Facilities Department. They are responsible for ensuring that the University campus network and estate infrastructure is maintained to a high standard which is fit for purpose and able to support the institution in delivering its key goals and objectives.

We are currently looking to recruit one Building Services Officer (Electrical). The successful candidate will have experience working within a construction or maintenance environment.

Applicants will be able to demonstrate their contemporary and customer focused skills, combined with effective written and verbal communication skills. They must be able to maintain the highest personal standards representing the front facing service of the University and to demonstrate the ability to deal with difficult and occasional stressful circumstances, in order to provide a clean, safe and secure environment for all students, staff and guests of the University. The ability to assess situations and respond efficiently and effectively is an essential requirement for this role. Candidates will be motivated, target driven and keen to learn and develop new or existing professional skills.

Prior consideration for interview will be given to those in the University redeployment pool.

The normal working hours are 8:00am to 4:30pm Monday to Thursday, with a 1- hour lunch break and 8:00am to 3:30pm on a Friday with a 30-minute lunch break.

The post holder may occasionally be required to work outside normal core hours (such as at weekends to oversee contractors), to assist at special University functions, returning weekend, open days, public events, and conferences during term time and vacations.
