The Role
The Commercial Business Support Testing Manager is responsible for the production and coordination of the testing strategy of commercial projects and the training of the end users and commercial department. You will be part of a high-performing team working on innovative, measurable, and high-profile projects.
Principal Accountabilities, Qualifications and Experience
• To produce a testing strategy and testing plan documents for each project requiring development and testing, (i.e. new or enhanced functionalities on customer systems).
• Manage testing phases from the start of development to delivery of the project.
• Sign off User Acceptance Testing for projects.
• Manage and coach the testing team to allocate resources, workload, and productivity, identify skill sets, and organise necessary training.
• To be the first line of support for testers and end users.
• Knowledge of all commercial business rules and contribute to the implementation of new, amended, or enhanced business rules.
• Liaise with the Business Support Manager regularly to always be up to date on ongoing projects or project requests.
• Ensure deadlines are met according to the project plan and business needs.
• To ensure testing platforms, devices, and testing data are always up to date, functioning, and ready for testing phases; manage fixes and improvements if required, and keep pool of devices up to date in accordance with the market evolution.
• Ensure the team members are all able to cover each other during holidays.
• To be responsible for writing briefing notes and meeting with end users before delivery of the live system to present the new system design and functionalities.
• Analyse and provide confirmation/clarification on the business rules to the IT department during the development of system action and change requests.
• To provide support and guidance for all Eurotunnel users.
• Responsible for the handover of projects and systems deliveries, linking with the suppliers, and organising demo meetings.
• Contribute to evolving the agile testing strategy using new tools such as X-Ray.
• To produce reporting during the project and after to allow stakeholders to identify the number of bugs and the decisions to be taken.
• Prioritise and assign elements in the correct release.
• Deal with live issues after any live delivery, keep colleagues up to date on bug fixes, and make sure the issue is followed up carefully.
• To promote the testing activity to the company and especially to the Commercial Department.
• Lead by example, providing others with clear direction, in line with the Getlink Leadership model.
• Excellent standard of education to A level (or equivalent).
• Knowledge of the AGILE method (JIRA, XRAY Confluence).
• ISTQB certificate in testing software is an advantage.
• Fluent English and the ability to communicate in French would be an advantage.
• Previous management experience (3 to 5 years) in a Testing/IT environment is an advantage.
• Computer literate (excel, word outlook).
• Knowledge and experience in project management.
• Excellent interpersonal skills.
• Excellent organisation skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work autonomously.
