Senior Payroll Administrator
Head Office - Dartford, Kent
Laing O'Rourke is an innovative, forward thinking Construction and Engineering business with a name dating back to 1848. We are the largest privately-owned construction business in the UK.
Our UK central payroll team is seeking a Senior Payroll Administrator to join the team based in our Head Office in Dartford, Kent. The purpose of the role is to ensure all staff are paid accurately and on time while providing an exceptional level of customer service. You will support with the development of the function's processes and procedures, while supporting change and innovation.
In this position you will work as part of a dedicated team and take ownership and responsibility for delivering payroll on a timely basis. Your duties will require you to process new starters, leavers, timesheets, statutory payments, termination payments and costing. Additionally, you will run reports, analyse, sanity check and ensure payroll remains internally and externally compliant. Other duties include ensuring third party suppliers are serviced efficiently to deadlines and support with general housekeeping and administrative duties to ensure department remains efficient, effective and professional.
About You
You will be an excellent communicator in all situations as you will need to meet Shareholders and Auditors expectations in relation to governance of pay. You will have the ability and confidence to challenge in a professional and constructive manner. Knowledge of excel, pivot tables and v-look ups, iTrent or similar systems is desirable.
* Experience of paying medium/large transient workforce
* Understand the complexities of different working rules i.e., Agreements/ TUPE/ Pension/ Unions
* Excellent problem-solving skills with good interpersonal skills.
