Your new role
* Maintain and oversee the company ledger, ensuring accurate recording of financial transactions.
* Update ledger balances and reconcile discrepancies.
* Organise and manage accounting documents, including invoices, receipts, and financial statements.
* Scan, file, and log account-related paperwork.
* Process and distribute employee payroll, ensuring timely and accurate payments.
* Handle tax deductions, National Insurance contributions, and other payroll-related tasks.
* Process invoices from vendors and suppliers.
* Prepare and distribute checks for payment.
* Process bank transfer requests.
* Monitor and reconcile bank statements.
* Assist in completing and submitting tax returns, including VAT returns.
* Ensure compliance with tax regulations.
* Update and maintain computerised accounting systems.
* Familiarity with accounting software is essential.
What you\'ll need to succeed
* Attention to Detail: Finance Assistants must be meticulous in handling financial data and documentation.
* Multitasking Skills: They often work on multiple administrative projects simultaneously.
* Organisational Abilities: Strong organisational skills are crucial for managing various financial tasks efficiently.
* Communication Skills: Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: Familiarity with Outlook, Word, and Excel.
* Experience: Prior experience in finance, accounting, or administrative roles is beneficial.
