Job Description:

We are looking for an experienced community organiser to work on our Chough Reintroduction project in Dover at Kent Wildlife Trust.

This unique role will work with communities to make a real difference for nature in Kent! You will help support people and wildlife to live alongside each other in Dover, Kent. Your role is central to connecting with and empowering local communities. You will use community organising approaches to bring people together for themselves and wildlife.

At Kent Wildlife Trust we are working to facilitate nature’s recovery across the landscape and within the communities we work alongside, and we know that if nature is to be restored at scale, we need many more people on nature’s side.

You will build relationships with, empower and enable communities to work alongside KWT to co-design landscape restoration and species re-introduction projects.

You will enable people to help themselves through supporting the design and delivery of a series of facilitated and sustainable activities leading to a ripple effect of people taking action for nature and the climate.

Who are we looking for:

Someone who is highly personable, passionate and organised. You are equally comfortable building relationships in communities as you are engaging with local politicians. You are committed to supporting community powered change and facilitating local people to empower themselves to act for nature.

This role will enable you to make a real difference to nature’s recovery and to be part of our vision to protect 30% of land and sea by 2030.

We are looking for someone who is willing to take responsibility and show courage and integrity. If you feel this is the role for you then we look forward to hearing from you.
