If you have hands-on software testing experience in Tribal SITS Student Lifecycle Systems and a thorough knowledge of the principles of functional and non-functional testing, we welcome your application to this full time Test Analyst position, within our Information Services Department.

The Student Data Systems team develops and maintains the University’s student record system that underpins the entire student lifecycle from admissions and clearing through to graduation. The core system used is Tribal SITS. The Test Analyst is responsible for championing, enabling, organising and delivering technical and UAT testing to improve the quality and consistency of services provided through our systems.

As a Test Analyst you will:

Facilitate and deliver testing throughout the development lifecycle, in line with business, functional and non-functional requirements
Collaborate with developers to design and implement manual and automated tests and embed testing as an integral part of the development process
Write (and where practical automate) test scenarios and scripts including the expected outcomes for functional, system, regression, integration, user acceptance and usability testing needs
Review test processes within the team to ensure they are effective, lean and deliver value.
To be successful in this role you will have/be:

Educated to HND Level (or comparable standard) or have equivalent experience
Experience of writing and executing system tests, regression and integration testing
Experience of empowering users and business analysts to construct, manage and run testing cycles
Ability to gather, analyse and present data and information effectively
Hands-on software testing experience in Tribal SITS Student Lifecycle Systems within a whole range of functional and non-functional testing including UAT, acceptance and system testing
The student record system is used by nearly 20,000 students to access details of their academic progress. Many more thousand enquiries and applications are received and processed. The student record system links with ~40 other systems providing an authoritative source of student data and identity, enabling accurate and timely delivery of many different services to staff and students.
