Payroll and Benefits Administrator | Dartford | £35K
Our client based in Dartford, is looking to recruiting a Payroll and Benefits Administrator in a newly created position. As the Payroll and Benefits Administrator, you will be given full accountability for the day-to-day responsibility for our UK monthly payrolls ensuring all data is managed in a timely manner and with a high degree of accuracy.
Key Role Deliverables
• Liaising and working closely with our payroll partner
• Monthly payroll of c. 200 employees across four payrolls in a growth environment.
• Monitor and prepare holiday pay, termination payments, non-statutory deductions, PSA’s etc.
• Apprenticeship Levy Reporting and administration
• RTI submissions
• Review and maintain accounting classifications by employee and prepare monthly payroll journals by predefined GL codes to set deadlines.
• The processing of all payroll data from starters, leavers, salary and statutory changes.
• Auto enrolment pension administration and dealing with our pension providers and benefit administrators across 3 different pension schemes.
• Manage annual life assurance renewal across the UK with our benefit administrators
• Manage the requests for travel pattern information for the annual travel insurance renewal in the UK
• HMRC and Pension reporting to deadlines.
• Liaising closely with the Human Resources department on all personnel related issues.
• To provide routine and ad hoc reports to Senior Management (UK Regional Controller/Group CFO), as requested
• Benefits administration including private health through payroll.
• To investigate and deal with all pay queries that may arise.
• Reconcile and raise payment requests for third party payments, to include court orders and all other statutory deductions.
• Proactively keeping up to date with new payroll legislation and compliance, including a working understanding of IR35 and tax treatment of staff benefits. Understanding of salary sacrifice schemes would be welcomed.
• Evaluation of current procedures and processes to ensure the function is run in the most efficient way.
• Manage the year end payroll process including production of P11D’s.
• Liaising with HMRC and all other external bodies incl. insurers, external auditors, benefit providers.
• Responsibility for ensuring the security of sensitive employee data in line with GDPR regulations.
• Support for the UK Finance Supervisor outside of key times with the processing of bank payments.
• Occasional adhoc projects relating to our employees from the UK Regional Controller or Group CFO
Essential And Desirable Skills
• Needs to have experience of managing a sizeable payroll for more than 5 years.
• Experience of operating payroll software
• Up to date payroll tax knowledge.
• Good working knowledge of excel
• Good communication and organisation skills
