Hours 2 Vacancies –
Vacancy 1 - 15 Hours (7.5 hrs Saturday + 7.5 hrs Sunday)
Vacancy 2 – 3.5 Hours Wednesday 11am to 2.30pm

An exciting opportunity has arisen for two roles in Visitor Services at the Powell-Cotton Museum, Quex House and Gardens. Our Museum has grown significantly over the last five years and the Trustees now recognise that these roles are needed to sustain our Visitor Services Operations and maintain a consistent and professional Museum.
Visitor Services team members are the face of the Museum, House and Gardens. They deliver a high standard of visitor service and excellence in customer care across all areas of museum activity. Working as part of a wider team you will support the organisation in the delivery of wider operational activities and contribute to the security and safety of the buildings, collections, public and staff.
For each role, we are looking for an enthusiastic, approachable and highly organised person to join our small team. Each successful applicant will be a good team worker but also self-motivated and ambitious. They will be a natural at customer service and can deliver a high-quality visitor experience. They will be flexible and able to support evening and weekend activities where needed. They will be willing to learn, have expectations regarding performance and delivery and should be able to demonstrate a keen approach to personal development and training.
The Powell-Cotton Museum is a world-renowned institution which is home to one of the most scientifically important collections of natural history and ethnography in the world. In addition, Quex House and Gardens compliment the public offering as a quality visitor attraction. We currently attract 40,000 visits per year and have a target of 60,000 visits by 2022.
Training: A Professional Development Plan will be agreed with the Visitor Services Officer. This will include training, mentoring and new professional opportunities.
Start/end date: Each post is permanent. A probationary review period applies for all new staff.
Closing Date for Application: Noon Friday 14th September 2018
Interview Dates: Thursday 11th October and Friday 12th October 2018
