Deputy Equine Yard Manager

An exciting opportunity has arisen for knowledgeable and enthusiastic Deputy Equine Yard Manager(s) to join our Equine team. The role will include overseeing the daily management of our equine facilities, including a busy yard of 50 horses and 3 arenas, ensuring the highest standards of horse care, health, welfare, yard presentation, and the effective maintenance of equine resources and equipment.

The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for managing and supervising yard operations, supporting students during practical sessions, maintaining health and safety standards, and working closely with teaching staff to provide an outstanding learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Manage the day-to-day running of the equine yard team and facilities.
Ensure excellent standards of horse welfare and stable management.
Support and supervise students during practical training.
Maintain health and safety procedures across the yard.
Coordinate feeding, turnout, exercise, and veterinary/farrier visits.
Assist with events, competitions, and open days where required.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

Relevant equine qualifications and practical industry experience.
Proven knowledge of horse care and yard management.
Excellent organisation and communication skills.
Experience supervising staff and students.
A proactive, flexible, and professional approach.

This role offers the opportunity to work within a supportive college environment, helping to inspire and develop the next generation of equine professionals. Onsite accommodation is available and can be discussed at the interview stage.

Where you’ll work: The role is based at our Hadlow campus.

Hours: Up to 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum (1.6 FTE)*

Your pay: £30,279 per annum
