We are seeking a Training Manager to lead our day service at princess Christian's Farm.
Normally 35 hours per excluding half an hour per shift for a meal break, with opportunities for overtime.
Purpose of the Role:
To lead and develop a high-quality day service provision at Princess Christian’s Farm and to lead the team who are employed by KASBAH to support people with learning and/or physical disabilities towards independence within a working farm setting. The role requires the post holder to provide varying degrees of support, assistance, training and practice to staff/apprentices/service users, depending on their individual needs and contribute to the effective and safe delivery of high-quality professional services and facilities. To promote effective participation and enhance specific learning for the individual to achieve their full potential.
The role requires staff to actively use the skills, knowledge and training that KASBAH invest in them.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for the line management of the Farm Senior and appropriate Princess Christian’s Farm staff
To ensure all staff has a personal responsibility in regard to Health and Safety, any potential issues/hazards must be reported to the nominated Health and Safety Officer
Take an active role in training and mentoring new staff and volunteers
Responsible for the daily management of Princess Christian’s Farm; more than delegation, making sure plans are followed and tasks are completed each day
Ensuring quality checks and informal monitoring takes place
Supporting the Farm Senior and farm lead roles in meeting all farm compliance and animal welfare needs (on the job training given)
Work with the Farm Lead to manage the land within regulations and meet conservational and local community needs.
Ensuring site health and safety needs are met.
Ensuring the farm is safe in terms of general tidiness, cleanliness, structure and order
Emergency on-call
Assessing new referrals to decide who has the potential to be offered a site visit; taking initial information, possible home visit and supporting a site visit
Initial Assessments to be completed
Ensure staff follow the individual risk assessment
Ensure staff are completing general risk assessments as needed and that these are followed
Always look for development opportunities, innovation and how to improve on what we already do
Ensure activities are shared on FaceBook, this can be delegated to a staff member/volunteer
Devising the rota and filling the gaps; recruitment needs and changes to be shared with HR
Ensuring incidents/ABC’s are written up, accurate, understandable, shared with full team and care management in a timely manner – if changes are needed send new strategies to the full team
Responsible for the daily management of files; upkeep, updates and inclusion of relevant information
Spend time daily to keep up-to-date with e-mails and general communication
Attend the Seniors meetings monthly and disseminate relevant information to the Princess Christian’s team
Liaison with parents and Carers; ensure it is logged and accurately recorded
Team meetings to be chaired by the Princess Christian’s Farm manager with support of the Farm Senior.
Responsible for general mentoring and development of the staff team
Annual review of all key documents
Attend Annual Reviews as booked in with care managers
Monthly audit – check key administration tasks are completed – accountability is with this role
Staff supervision – can be delegated at times but issues to be followed up by the manager
Complete Monthly Reports – can be delegated at times
Communicate with the other managers regularly to ensure consistency across the organisation
Safeguarding and investigation (support)
Contribute to organisational processes; policy reviews, attending Management Reviews, network and promote as needed
Support the wider membership with emergencies on occasion
To ensure all service users and visitors adhere to Princess Christian’s Farm policies, procedures, and rules.
