Background of department/role

The Accounts Receivable team provides a full credit control service to the University for student tuition and accommodation fees.

As a key member of the team, reporting to the Accounts Receivable Supervisor, the Accounts Receivable Assistant will be jointly responsible for the Accommodation ledger, and will also provide support across the other debtors ledgers managed by the Accounts Receivable team, undertaking effective credit control processes.

The post holder will also monitor, review and respond to emails received into the generic Accounts Receivable email account and work in conjunction with the rest of the team to develop the University Finance system to ensure the efficient and effective management of the debtors’ ledgers, and development of the associated processes and procedures.

The Accounts Receivable team is a busy section of the Finance Department, with a high volume of payments received from students and other outside parties. Accuracy and timeliness in dealing with such payments is essential, as is attention to detail. Strong communication and interpersonal skills are also essential for the role.

How will you work?

Part-time: 18.5 hours per week, working pattern to be agreed, but must include Tuesdays and Wednesdays.

We are committed to supporting flexible methods of working wherever possible and this role is hybrid - Campus attendance may vary on a day-to-day basis and across the year but must purposefully align to the needs of our students, staff, and stakeholders.

It is expected that there will be a relatively even balance between time spent on and off campus; but in most cases the work location will be determined by the service required or the tasks/activities being undertaken.
