Reed Accountancy & Finance are looking for a detail-oriented Sales Ledger Clerk to join our finance team on a temporary basis in Ashford. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing the sales ledger, ensuring that sales invoices are processed accurately and that payments are received in a timely manner.
Sales Ledger Clerk Day-to-day of the role:
*Maintain up-to-date billing system and generate and send out invoices.
*Follow up on, collect, and allocate payments.
*Carry out billing, collection, and reporting activities according to specific deadlines.
*Perform account reconciliations and monitor customer account details for non-payments, delayed payments, and other irregularities.
*Research and resolve payment discrepancies and generate age analysis.
*Review AR aging to ensure compliance and maintain accounts receivable customer files and records.
*Process credit card payments and prepare bank deposits.
*Investigate and resolve customer queries and communicate with customers via phone, email, mail, or personally.
Sales Ledger Clerk Required Skills & Qualifications:
*Proven experience as a Sales Ledger Clerk or in a similar accounting role.
*Solid understanding of basic accounting principles, fair credit practices, and collection regulations.
*Proven ability to calculate, post, and manage accounting figures and financial records.
*Data entry skills along with a knack for numbers.
*Hands-on experience with spreadsheets and proprietary software.
*Proficiency in MS Office, particularly Excel.
*Customer service orientation and negotiation skills.
*High degree of accuracy and attention to detail.
