The Role
Reporting to the Head of Legal UK, Legal Counsel will be a key member of a bi-national legal team assisting with the provision of commercial, contractual, construction, and compliance-related legal services to internal customers within Eurotunnel and across the Getlink group of companies in the UK and France.
Legal Counsel must be experienced, pragmatic, and assured, with good communication skills and the ability to work closely with clients and colleagues at all levels.

Principal Accountabilities, Qualifications, and Experience
• Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and approving a wide range of upstream and downstream commercial contracts across the business including the supply of various goods and services, rail-related construction and engineering projects, IT/IP contracts, and marketing/advertising agreements.
• Liaising with colleagues across the business to identify the legal considerations arising from our day-to-day operational and commercial activities.
• Working closely with other business functions, ensuring that key stakeholders are appropriately involved and/or informed of progress and developments.
• Working with the Head of Legal UK and the Legal Director to meet the objectives of the legal department.
• Assisting and contributing to bi-national work between legal team members.
• Identifying and mitigating legal risks for the Group’s operational and commercial activities.
• Providing training to members of the legal team on key UK legal issues and risks and arranging training for colleagues across our business.
• Providing legal advice and recommendations on regulatory and compliance related requirements across the Getlink Group of companies; in particular, advising on and assisting with the development and implementation of the Group’s Data Protection and Competition law policies.
• You will be a UK qualified solicitor/barrister 4+ years PQE.
• Ideally you will have a mix of private practice and in-house legal experience dealing with corporate, commercial and regulatory related issues.
• You will be fluent in English. Fluency in French is highly desirable but not essential.
