Background of department/role
The Faculty of Arts, Humanities and Education offers a diverse range of high-quality courses across contemporary and traditional areas of study in Arts, Humanities and Education. This role sits within the School of Teacher Education, a large academic School that delivers courses in the four discrete, but inter-linked, areas of Primary Initial Teacher Education (ITE), Secondary ITE, Further Education & Skills ITE, and Professional Learning. The School is committed to excellence in teaching, learning and the student experience, as well as growing a positive research and postgraduate culture.
Working in collaboration with the Head of School and Heads of Primary ITE, Secondary ITE, and Further Education & Skills (FES), the role-holder will provide strategic and operational leadership for ITE partnership development across all age-phases.
Committed to the delivery of high-quality initial teacher education, you will drive the continuous improvement of our partnership working with established partner settings, schools and colleges, as well as extending our reach, capacity, and reputation through the founding of new ITE partnerships. The role also carries the responsibility of the designated safeguarding lead for the School of Teacher Education.
