Cyber Security is becoming ever more important to all organisations with ever increasing threats and compliance requirements. The University is re-affirming its commitment to Cyber Security by growing the teams responsible for driving improvements.

Five new roles will be recruited within the IT Department on two year fixed term contracts which may, depending on the outcome of teaching bids, become permanent posts. These roles will allow the Platforms and Systems team, the End User Computing team and the Cyber Security team to maintain operational responsibilities whilst also improving the security and functionality of the University's IT services.

The roles will include two IT Operations System Engineers who will be responsible for:


The day‑to-day operation of the Platform and Systems infrastructure
Providing 2nd and 3rd line support for our IT systems
Providing a valuable service our user community for IT Platforms and Systems infrastructure, including the Virtualisation platform, Cloud IaaS, Backup, Office 365, Identity Systems and related Infrastructure.

We are looking for approachable, customer-focused engineers who have a broad range of experience in supporting and developing IT systems.
