Where you’ll work: This role is based at the College’s Tonbridge campus.
Your hours: 37 hours per week, 52 weeks per annum.
Your pay: Spine Points 32b (£30,450 full time equivalent) to 37 (£36,859 full time equivalent), rising to a ceiling of Spine Point 40 (£40,287 full time equivalent) with a full teaching qualification.
Working within North Kent College’s Media curriculum area, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a suitability qualified, experienced, and passionate individual to join the team as a Lecturer in Media Studies.
You’ll be required to prepare, teach, and assess at a variety of qualification levels, providing support and guidance to your learners as they progress through their studies.
You’ll have specialist knowledge of the curriculum area, which may be enhanced by any relevant industry / professional experience, as well as a formal qualification that underpins this knowledge. In addition to this, you will need to demonstrate ability to teach across levels 2, 3 and 4, have good working knowledge Film, TV and Digital Journalism practices and equipment including the use of software packages such as Premier Pro.
We need you to be a team player and an excellent communicator, able to maintain a proactive approach and an eye for detail whilst working to challenging deadlines.
Teaching experience, particularly within Further Education, would be advantageous but isn’t essential. Likewise, although a full teaching qualification (at Level 5 or above) isn’t required at this stage, you would need to secure this within 3 years of appointment.
In return, we’ll give you 42 days’ annual leave plus bank holidays (pro rata for part time contracts), and you’ll be enrolled onto the Teachers’ Pension Scheme which also includes life assurance. You’ll also benefit from free parking and have access to a range of onsite facilities including a nursery (Dartford and Gravesend campuses), restaurants and coffee shops.
