Job Title: Transport Manager

Location: Near Dover, office based

Salary: £33,000 - £36,000 DOE

Hours: Monday to Friday 8am - 5pm, with occasional Saturday mornings, as and when required

The position: As the Transport Manager you'll be responsible for optimising the efficiency of the companies transportation operations while adhering to budgetary constraints. Your attention to detail and strategic planning skills will be crucial in ensuring that the companies loads are promptly delivered, safely handled and in a cost-effective manner.

Key responsibilities as the Transport Manager:

* Schedule day to day tasks such as planning, resource allocation, driver supervision
* Manage, direct and monitor the fleets overall performance to increase efficiency and maximise service, profit and value
* Monitor and report on transportation costs
* Ensure shipping documents are properly completed
* Report maintenance and repair needs for vehicles and equipment
* Conduct regular safety audits on equipment
* Be able to work closely with the French office, arranging deliveries and reloads
* Control and plan the maintenance
* Provide support to other departments with transport issues

You'll be the ideal candidate for this position if you have the following:

* Knowledge of transport procedures, including planning, procedures and vehicle tracking
* A familiarity with safety protocols and legal regulations to ensure the smooth and secure handling of all movements
* Good knowledge of the reload market, both UK and France
* A comprehensive understanding of supply chain management
