Room Attendants / Housekeepers are required to help keep guest rooms and public areas of Canterbury Cathedral Lodge to a high level of cleanliness.

Candidates must be fully flexible in their approach to hours and days worked as the cleaning operation spans seven days a week / 365 days a year, with shifts varying between the hours of 7am to 5pm.

This role is offered on a contracted basis or on a casual/zero hours basis. The successful candidate (s) can choose the option that best suits their needs and work/life balance.

What is the difference between a contracted and casual/zero hours role?

- A contracted role requires the employee to work a set number of hours and/or working pattern.

- A casual/zero hours role is one where the employer offers the employee work when it arises, and the employee chooses whether or not to accept the work offered on that occasion. The employer does not guarantee the employee any hours of work.

Any casual/zero hour appointed employee who has worked in a steady pattern for 6 months has, by law, the right to request a contracted role with a set number of hours and/or working pattern.
