Health and Safety Lead - 3 month temporary role

£21.66 p/hour (£40,000)

Based in Medway

Huntress are currently recruiting for an experienced Health and Safety Lead. Reporting to the Head of Health and Safety, this role supports the delivery of the quality strategy and vision to ensure the delivery of safe, effective and high quality services.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

* Management and implementation of the Health & Safety Programme of Work/Plan with day to day management of health & safety activities.
* Ensure that Health & Safety strategies, policies and processes are reviewed and updated on a regular basis to ensure they reflect changes and improvements in the national health & Safety agenda, relevant legislation and guidance.
* Responsible for undertaking immediate action to address health & safety concerns. This may involve being disturbed from other work on a regular basis. It may also involve exposure to staff, their line managers and services who may be concerned about incidents.
* Ensure every incident reported is investigated in a manner, which is timely, efficient, comprehensive and objectively.
* Apply experience and judgement to the application of national criteria for the reporting, management and grading of incidents.
* Developing and overseeing work plans which provide assurance of compliance to legislation through specialist and existing programmes of audit and assurance, developing action plans to address areas of non-compliance and for improvement in conjunction with divisional and corporate teams.
