An opportunity has arisen within an established firm for an experienced Accountant to join their team of 11 staff who service two offices to provide top-quality accounting services to their diverse client based in Kent. The successful candidate will need to demonstrate excellent attention to detail. They will be confident and expected to show initiative and be diligent in their work. They must be capable of working independently with appropriate training and support. People who are passionate about coming to work to make a difference and get creative. You must be able to engage well with others as this role is very client facing and you will have a lot of interaction with clients. You will be expected to manage your portfolio offering complete services from the bottom up, this is a hands-on role that will involve the selling of services and engaging with and managing your clients directly. It is a busy
working environment that is client-facing, and you must have a real enthusiasm for working with the team and servicing a very diverse client base.

The Role:
- Preparation of bookkeeping, statutory accounts & VAT returns
- Annual tax compliance work
- Preparation of company and personal tax returns
- Working alongside the Business Owner to
-manage statutory practice tax and accounts deadlines
-manage VAT compliance work to deadline
- Working with computerised and cloud-based accounting systems
- Client relationship management - offering a friendly and efficient service
- Maintain and update the firm`s practice management applications

They require:
- Minimum of 3 years of practice experience, ACCA/ACA qualified
- Strong working knowledge of accounts and tax return preparation and compliance
- Ability to produce accounts from incomplete records (including double entry bookkeeping and the production of accounts to Trial Balance stage)
- Ownership of workload, alongside management of the teams workload that supports you
- Strong working knowledge of UK Tax Laws and Accounting standards applicable to small businesses
- Ability to work, support and communicate with a diverse range of a clients
- Must have worked with computerised or cloud-based accounting systems (ideally but not essential - Quickbooks, Xero or Taxcalc)
- Conscientious, committed, and reliable attitude

There will be occasional travel between their offices, ideally once every two weeks. They are open to flexibility and could consider someone on a 4-day week or a 5hr x 5-day week. They offer hybrid working with a pattern of 3 days office and 2 days WFH.
