The Role
We are currently seeking a Communications Manager to support the ambitions of the Students’ Union.
The postholder will be responsible for the coordination of communications and design for the Union, leading on planning, development and implementation of the communications strategy, for face-to-face, digital, and print mediums, working to ensure consistency through all its channels.
They will work alongside Union staff, sabbatical officers, and volunteers ensuring appropriate communication tools are in place to enable achievement of the Union's Strategic Plan by engaging an ever broader range of members, expanding the Union’s communications reach and achieve a greater depth of understanding of the Union’s mission, vision, ambition, values, and services.
Working to tight deadlines, the post holder must ensure clear, consistent, and engaging content that is consistent with the adopted brand identity. They are expected to promote the Union and its activities positively with all stakeholders, monitoring and measuring engagement. The postholder is expected to provide a proactive and responsive service, in line with Union protocol on public relations matters, acting as the main point of contact for Union communications internally and externally.
