A fantastic opportunity has landed for an experienced Buyer to join a busy and fast paced team in Mid Kent.
This role will suit someone from a Wholesale/Distribution or FMCG background, passionate about achieving personal objectives and achieving organisational profitability.
The ideal candidate will be self-motivated and a confident decision maker continually looking for process improvements with a track record of cost saving initiatives.
Duties for this role include:
* Sourcing and negotiating all aspects of the purchase of products and services
* Maintaining specifications of current products
* Creating supplier files and analysing supplier performance
* Effective maintenance of relationships
* Forecasting of deliveries
* Ensuring all suppliers are compliant
* Extensive monitoring of stock levels, order progressions and usage to ensure material is available when required.
The successful candidate will have/be:
* Previous experienced working within a Buying or Purchasing role
* The ability to prioritise a demanding workload
* Detail orientated with a strong level of attention to detail
* Confident in working within a fast paced environment
* Excellent computer skills, including proficiency with Excel
* Have good communication skills at all levels
* Commercially aware
