You’ll be part of The BeYou Project - our support service for LGBT+ young people. You will help run BeYou meet-ups (physical and online) – safe spaces where young people can be themselves and socialise.
You’ll help the young people develop the skills and confidence they need to be active members of these and their local community. This will include providing LGBT+ related support, understanding or information they may not be able to access at home or at school.
You will also provide one-to-one support for a small number of LGBT+ young people and be available to offer guidance to their families (when appropriate).
The role requires:
-Someone who can talk with, motivate and engage young people
-You should have a good understanding of the issues LGBT+ young people face and be committed to building LGBT+ communities
-Experience of designing, promoting and managing youth group programmes
-The energy and enthusiasm to help us drive our BeYou service forward to change the lives of more LGBT+ young people
-A commitment to Porchlight’s safeguarding policies and promoting the welfare of children, young people and adults at risk.
Interview date: 10th December 2021
Contract: Fixed term until 31st March 2023
Working Pattern: 9am to 5pm Monday to Friday with flexibility required
