Direct Payment Case Worker – hours negotiable

Salary Band D: (FTE £24,922 - £28,942)

The Beams Direct Payment Service is part of a well established parent-driven charity working to support disabled children and their families as well as young adults up to the age of 25.

We are looking to recruit a Direct Payment Case Worker to work within our dedicated direct payment team. Hours negotiable, minimum requirement 25 hours per week.

A key function of this role is to assist potential clients to understand the nature and requirements of direct payments. To provide advice and assistance to families of disabled children and young adults who wish to employ staff to aid them in meeting their support requirements. To complete financial audits of individual’s direct payment accounts on behalf of the local authority.

The successful applicant should have a proactive and positive work ethic, strong communication and organizational skills as well as excellent attention to detail. They should have excellent numeracy skills and the ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines. Account reconciliation experience is essential, and HR experience or a good knowledge of Employment rights would be beneficial due to the nature of the support we offer.

The service operates across the whole of Kent, meaning the ability to offer a fieldwork style is vital. A full, clean driving license and use of a car is essential. The position is home based.

Knowledge of direct payments is preferable, but not essential, as we will provide comprehensive training in this area.
