Based at Head Office Maidstone
The ideal applicant for this position will be committed to joining a well-respected family run business, maintaining the high reputation achieved over the years for delivering high quality of goods and customer service.
The Role:
We require a bright, self-motivated individual to content manage the Group’s main 8 websites, along with various micro sites within the business. This will include ensuring that the sites look professional at all times, with full working links and are free from errors. You will also work with Management and our Marketing Team to keep all our content and offers up to date. As a self-starter, you will be keen to keep ahead of the latest web developments and innovations and to work with us to introduce these to our platforms, where appropriate.
Related to all this, you would also be looking after the Company’s digital signage to ensure a consistent experience. In addition to this, you will also be working within our IT Dept., assisting them with initial fault diagnostic and remedy of day to day issues with the Company’s IT equipment.
Responsibilities Include:
• The maintenance of front-end content of all Group websites with meticulous attention to detail, completed through our content management systems, so no previous coding experience required.
• Ensuring no dead links, outdated content and liaising with managers to advise of updates required eg. model changes.
• Optimising and monitoring the UX for all sites across common platforms.
• Monitoring stock for issues such as poor photos, descriptions/cap lookups.
• Maintaining design/features of Company ecommerce platforms. Liaising with Parts Managers. Adding features and improvements, fixing errors, analysing trends, researching and implementing web innovations.
• Assisting with online shop integrations with Google Shopping, ebay, Amazon etc.
• Working with Photoshop for banner & other online imagery creation.
• Liaising with our web supplier for larger design refresh projects.
• Receiving requests from the Marketing Department to ensure compliance with OEM standards.
• Maintaining content on Company digital signage (Samsung MagicInfo).
• Maintaining / deploying phone system wallboards. Tweak the designs and stats (web based).
• Assisting IT in answering of 1st line support calls, and logging onto the ticket system.
• Providing basic 1st Line IT support, initial fault diagnostic so that 2nd line have more detail on the ticket. Providing remote support on basic troubleshooting / software issues, password resets etc.
• Monitoring reporting from key systems for issues. Such as phone system, finance system leads, system backups etc.
• Patching management & Windows update tracking.
• Assisting with ink/toner tracking & dispatch.
• Other adhoc duties, as appropriate.
Person Specification/Key Competencies:
• Excellent working knowledge of all web content management platforms and associated areas.
• Working knowledge of Photoshop, OSTicket, Wordpress, Netdirector, Aptus, Samsung Magicinfo systems would be advantageous.
• Understanding of HTML, CSS and Javascript not essential but could prove useful.
• Knowledge of PC & Printer troubleshooting on Windows 10, and experience with iOS devices.
• Motor industry experience would be preferred, but is not essential.
Essential Qualities:
• Self-motivated, enthusiastic, with a positive ‘can do’ attitude.
• Ability to work alone and as part of a busy team.
• Excellent organisational skills & high attention to detail.
• Good written English ability and ability to spot typographic errors.
• Design flair with pride in your work.
• Good verbal and listening skills for effective communication with the members of staff at all levels via telephone, email and in person to understand their needs.
• Able to work under pressure or to tight deadlines.
• Well-presented, professional but friendly approach to business.
• Flexibility in duties.
• Competitive salary dependent on experience
