Age UK Sevenoaks and Tonbridge is an independent local charity seeking an experienced Finance Officer/Bookkeeper to join their head office team in Sevenoaks.
Purpose of Post:
To be responsible for the finances of the organisation – all bookkeeping, banking, VAT and reporting requirements both for management and statutory purposes.
Key Activities:
To review the current processes in place for collection of financial data and input to the SAGE Financial System in order to ensure the financial management of the organisation in a controlled and timely manner
Maintenance of the SAGE Financial Management System including nominal and purchase ledgers and reconciliation of all control accounts
Control of all treasury and banking functions including monthly bank reconciliations on a timely basis
Preparation of annual budgets for the organisation and the development of longer-term financial plans in line with the organisations business plan
Preparation of, and input to, all returns including VAT, Tax, Grant Claims, Project Returns and the Charity Commission Annual return
Maintenance of all Cashbooks and primary records in conjunction with other relevant staff.
Liaison with the organisation’s Payroll provider to ensure accurate data is posted to SAGE in a timely manner
Liaison with the organisation’s external auditors
Preparation of regular management accounting reports to the Chief Officer and the Board of Trustees on a timely basis
Assist in the preparation of the annual Statutory Accounts
To be the main point of contact in the organisation in the Chief Officer’s absence
To participate in any relevant training for the duties of this post and to achieve the key objectives of the Council.
To carry out any other related duties as may be directed from time to time by the Chief Officer
