Mid Kent Growers is a 20-member apple and pear Producer Organisation responsible for the management and marketing of members’ fruit, with a turnover in excess of £10m. Its principal aim is to maximise financial returns for its members’ fruit.
The main roles of the position are:
1. Generation of growers’ returns for fruit sold.
2. Administration and recording of information to aid reports to the Board of Directors and the Rural Payments Agency
3. Sales analysis and benchmarking different routes to market.
4. Planning and preparation for the next year’s fruit.
The successful applicant will have a thorough working knowledge of Excel spreadsheets and the ability to evaluate figures and costs. Experience of Key Accounts and the fresh produce sector would be helpful but need not limit someone with the enthusiasm to learn about the industry.
The position is based at Egerton and is part of a small team reporting to the Board of Directors.
