Finance Assistant
We are looking for a Finance Assistant to join our Finance Department at our offices in Gravesend, Kent.
Working in the finance team you will play a key role in ensuring the smooth and efficient management of daily financial operations. You'll be handling a variety of tasks, from accounts receivable to carrying out weekly reconciliations for an external provider. You’ll work closely with the Finance Team by reporting daily on the company’s cash position and resolving any discrepancies, making sure everything is accounted for. By joining our team, you will be processing financial data that contributes to the financial reporting of our organisation.
Ideal Candidate
• 2 years’ experience working in a finance position and an understanding of accounting principles
• People-centred personality with the ability to work well with others and be discreet with confidential information
• A proactive nature and ability to work with all levels of persons throughout the business
• A pleasant telephone manner and organizational skills
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel) and experience with accounting software is desirable
• Strong attention to detail and accurate processing of data

Key Responsibilities
• Maintaining the Sales Ledger
• Recording customer payments daily and ensuring correct allocation to customer accounts
• Setup new Customer Accounts
• Contact customers to follow up on overdue payments
• Generating Customer Statements and follow up on disputes
• Inputting transactions into the finance system
• Performing daily checks of sales invoices
• Daily Cash reporting & draw down cash as required
• Raising ad-hoc customer invoices and credit notes and resolving queries by liaising with other departments
• Provide weekly reports to an external provider
• Ensuring proper filling, scanning, and processing of documents
• Reconciling the ledger monthly to ensure accurate closure of the Sales Ledger to timetable
• Providing data for our annual Audit
• Providing assistance to the Finance Team as required
• Supplier Statement reconciliation monthly
• Assist with month end processing for the General Ledger
• Collate and process ad-hoc journals
• Assisting Commercial team
• Financial analyses as required
• Performing ad hoc administrative tasks such as updating team calendars

Key details
This is an office- based full time permanent role
Salary is £26,000 - £28,000
Monthly Performance Bonus
Expected start date: ASAP
