A long established manufacturing company located in Medway Towns is looking for a Continuous Improvement Engineer to join their team on a permanent basis.You will be from an Engineering Manufacturing background and be educated to degree level or equivalent.

Reporting to the Operations Manager, you are instrumental in the implementation of Continuous Improvement, Lean methodology and problem-solving initiatives. You will have the autonomy to operate across all departments and at all levels to implement effectively change without disrupting every day operational duties.

You will be responsible for:

* Leading and managing continuous improvement processes on site whilst promoting a culture of accountability. Leading regular continuous improvement events on site to improve employee skill and knowledge development as well as KPI performance improvement.
* Educating all employees in Lean tools & techniques, supporting lean initiatives in all manufacturing areas.
* Identify and implement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of process improvements.
* Analysing results and developing improvement plans, ensuring initiatives are completed to meet safety, quality and cost goals.
* Identifying opportunities for improvement at shop floor level.
* Supporting in the investigation of new machinery / technologies to streamline the processes and reduce costs.
* Assisting manufacturing personnel in creating relevant Standards Operating Procedures.

The successful candidate will have Lean Manufacturing training including tools and techniques and previous engineering experience.

You will also have the ability to lead teams, be an excellent communicator and a have a high level of IT literacy.

Hours of work are 08.15-17.00 Monday-Thursday and 08.30-13.15 on Friday.
