Test and Inspection Technician
Job Description: We are seeking a dedicated Test and Inspection Technician to ensure products meet specific standards and customer requirements through thorough testing and inspection. This role involves diagnosing faults, repairing products, and conducting Environmental Stress Screening (ESS) tests. You will manage non-conformance reporting, complete documentation, and support various business areas as needed.
Roles and Responsibilities:
* Test and inspect new and customer-returned products to ensure they meet required specifications.
* Report non-conformance using the product control database, email, NCR, or MRB procedures.
* Perform tests using Automatic Test Equipment (ATE) and ESS equipment.
* Diagnose and repair defects in Printed Circuit Board Assemblies (PCBAs).
* Complete and file documentation, update test documentation and Product Work Instructions, and report deviations to the Engineering team.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Experience:
* Standard education including English, Maths, and a science subject; HND or BSc in Electronics (or similar) preferred.
* Minimum of 3 years in an engineering or quality-related production environment.
* Proficiency in fault diagnosis to component level of PCBAs and use of Automatic Test Equipment (ATE).
* Ability to read and understand manufacturing drawings.
* Knowledge of electronic equipment (e.g., multimeters, oscilloscopes) and company product lines.
* Experience with hand tools, working independently, and articulating root causes of failures.
* Proficiency in MS Word and Excel.
* Ability to identify and report continuous improvement opportunities.
* Experience in the defence industry.
* Understanding of electrostatic devices and handling.
* Familiarity with clean room environments.
