A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a professional Quality Engineer to join a leading business that designs and manufactures bespoke products for a variety of industries. The QE will be fully based from their site on the outskirts of Maidstone.

This is a great opportunity for someone who is looking to work for a company who are global leader that strives to provide exceptional service to their clients.

Your role as a Quality Engineer is to evaluate the quality assurance of processes and products, whilst recommending revisions of indicated specifications. Your duties will include testing products, systems, and procedures to ensure that they meet technical standards, creating documentation on quality and safety, and liaising between the engineering, production teams, and customers to uncover quality-related issues.

The quality engineer will liaise with production, sales, purchasing, and engineering, and will help engineer quality process, writing work instructions/control plans. Will analyse defects and identify trends and improvement actions. Chair quality improvement meetings ensuring improvement actions are documented using PDCA.

You will be familiar with ISO 9001/IATF 16949 and will be qualified as a lead auditor have
working knowledge of lean principles, Six Sigma Green Belt certified.

Quality Engineer Responsibilities:

 Developing and implementing quality standards
 Developing and implementing quality control systems
 Monitoring and analysing quality performance, including warranty claims
 Inspecting and testing materials, equipment, processes, and products to ensure quality specifications are met
 Collaborating with operations managers to develop and implement controls and improvements
 Ensuring that workflows, processes, and products comply with safety regulations
 Investigating and troubleshooting product or production issues
 Developing corrective actions, solutions, and improvements

The ideal candidate would need to be familiar with the following core tools:

- Control plan creation
- Statistical process control (SPC)
- FMEA
- MSA
- PPAP
- APQP
- 8d problem-solving
