Established in 1991, FloPlast Ltd is an ever growing, market leader in the manufacture and supply of plastic building and plumbing systems to the UK Construction Sector. We specialise in PVC Roofline, Rainwater, Soil & Waste, Underground Drainage and Hot & Cold Plumbing Systems which we manufacture ourselves and supply directly to Builders and Plumbers Merchants; including B&Q, Screwfix, Selco and Travis Perkins. We have over 300 employees at our Sittingbourne site and pride ourselves in offering career progression and longevity within the business.

We are currently seeking a Technical Assistant to provide support to the Technical Manager. This is a great opportunity for someone looking to start their career. Full training will be given, but applicants must have strong maths skills.

The position is full time (40 hours per week) - Monday to Friday 8:30am to 5:30pm with a one-hour unpaid lunch break.
Salary circa £19,000 or in line with age appropriate NMW /NLW.

What does the role involve?

• General Administration.
• Complete material schedules using drawings submitted by customers and architects.
• Complete roof area calculations and specify rainwater systems appropriate to the roof area.
• Respond to product enquiries and supply quotes.
• Contract price support and associated price increases.
• Maintaining the monthly contract sale records.
• Assisting to maintain the company’s claims and complaints systems.
• Provide technical support to customers, architects and colleagues either verbally or via email.
• To assist in the development of product specification documentation for customers and end users.

About You... (What are we looking for?)

• Problem solving – you will eventually be offering technical advice to customers and solving issues using our products.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills.
• Strong math skills – a lot of calculations for take offs, roof area calculations etc.
• Self-motivated and ability to work alone.
• IT literate with proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Especially proficient in Excel.
• Really good attention to details, especially in relation to scientific data.
