35-hour contract (07:30 - 16:30 - Mon to Thur and 07:30 - 12:30 Fridays)
Salary £ 28,879.20
An opportunity to join a dynamic team as a Junior Buyer and collaborate with their experienced Purchasing Manager to drive procurement excellence.
The Junior Buyer plays a vital role in monitoring and facilitating the purchasing requirements of the Company. This includes ensuring the timely receipt of parts and securing contracts that provide the best value to the organisation.
Main Tasks:
Interpret the Company requirement plan and generate or modify order cover as needed.
Analyse buying patterns, predict future trends and effectively manage stock levels to adapt to changes in demand and logistics.
Evaluate suppliers for suitability, negotiate contract terms, and conduct site visits as required.
Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and take ownership of any supply line complaints received by the Company.
Identify new opportunities to meet prototype/production build requirements.
Conduct audits of stock and suppliers to optimise usage and minimise wastage. Support the Purchasing Manager in cost-down programs.
Maintain and manage electronic and manual systems with a high level of accuracy.
Collaborate closely with the accounts staff to obtain relevant financial information related to procurement and purchasing. Assist the Purchasing Manager in budgeting, forecasting, and financial data development.
Process and track purchase orders to ensure on-time delivery.
Process Engineering Change Notes (ECNs) efficiently.
Regularly communicate and meet with the Purchasing Manager to ensure effective information exchange at all times.
Manage Contractor fitments in alignment with production and customer requirements.
Skills and Abilities:
Demonstrates a high level of accuracy in work and attention to detail.
Possesses good sales and negotiation skills to secure favourable terms.
Exhibits excellent communication skills to interact with suppliers and internal stakeholders effectively.
Displays strong organisational abilities and can work well independently or as part of a team.
Proficient in administrative tasks, including documentation and record-keeping.
Has obtained or is willing to obtain CIPS qualifications to become a member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply.
Alternatively, demonstrates extensive knowledge in purchasing and procurement developed through experience.
