Residence Client Service Manager (Housing Officer)
Location: Canterbury
Contract: 13 month contract
Salary: £29,500 to £30,500 per annum
Hours: Full time 37 hours (mon-fri)

Hays are working with this Kent University to recruit for this exciting role to work in the Estates & Facilities team. Your new role
Your role will see you providing an integrated and customer led housing management service across the network. Along with this you will ensure owned and managed accommodation is a safe place to live and study and meets the requirements of the current legislation.
Duties

* Monitor all elements of the UK Code of Practice, including good management practice and compliance with legislation, is up to date and in good order.
* Involved in the plans for refurbishment of accommodation and facilities and where necessary contributing to refurbishment and design specifications for new projects.
* Co-Ordinate the main Arrivals weekends with the Data, Systems and Information Manager to ensure that this is a well managed event at all of the campuses.
* Ensuring correct procedures are in place for the reporting and monitoring of all faults in the student accommodation using the logging system.
* To provide leadership and motivation necessary to ensure your team members are able to deliver the quality required by the service. The role will include recruitment, induction, appraisal and development of team members.
* Assist with the preparation of annual budgets for Residences, including all costs. Monitor throughout the year that all controllable costs associated with the operation of Residences are maintained within the budget

What you'll need to succeed
Qualification in Housing/Facilities/Management or Equivalent.
Previous experience in residential, accommodation or client services environment.
Proven ability to effectively manage staff, including the management of supervisory staff and to include the selection of staff, appraisal and performance management, training and development.
A demonstrable commitment to excellent customer service and care.
A capacity to manage projects and work with others in projects
Complaint and conflict Management
Development and maintenance of quality initiatives
Working within HE Sector
Development of Operational Housing Policies
Staff Training
Change Management
NVQ in Customer Care or equivalent - Desirable.
