Engineering Manager - In Service Programmes
Engineering Manager - In Service Programmes. Circa £68k. New Malden. Hybrid and flexible working arrangements available. My client, a global defence company, are looking for an Engineering Manager - In Service Programmes with the ability to operate in a large, complex project at engineering management level, to join an exciting and expanding team. As an Engineering Manager - In Service Programmes with the ability to operate in a large, complex project at engineering management level, your role is to provide high quality customer focussed post-delivery support and development services for the Submarine Combat System. This is an exciting senior level position that will provide you with a challenging role whilst allowing you to develop your skills, learning from the experienced engineers around you.
As an Engineering Manager - In Service Programmes, you will:
* Ensure that core support and post delivery service programmes for the systems within scope are delivered on time, scope, quality and budget
* Delivery of engineering effort to budget and schedule including work package allocation and tracking with Earned Value Management
* Resourcing and tasking of the support teams to investigate operational defect reports and technical queries
* Ensure that the development and execution of team resource plans including forward load forecasting, recruitment and reassignment of engineers include the requirements of the SMCS In-Service Post Delivery Services programmes
* Liaising with the SMCS Developments Engineering manager to advice of any needed to the systems under support as a result of updates to reliability data, defect trends and spares attrition data
* Delivery of any software releases & additional contracted tasks
This role would suit someone who is passionate about Engineering, particularly with a Combat System programme delivery background. Someone who likes to work on large, exciting, complex projects and is confident in liaising with stakeholders.
Your skills and qualifications
Essential:
* Degree qualified or equivalent in a STEM related discipline, ideally registered as Incorporated Engineer or Chartered Engineer with the Engineering Council or ability to attain Chartership
* Ability to operate in a large, complex project at engineering management level
* Knowledge and experience in use of Combat System Equipment design processes and systems to LCM guidelines
* Extensive knowledge of Engineering Project Management techniques (EV, CPI, SPI, Risk)
* Substantial experience in Engineering or a defence related industry preferably within a support environment
Desirable:
* Experience within a Naval Combat Systems Development environment across multiple lifecycle phases
* Knowledge of the in-service support approaches and processes, particularly within a sub-surface maritime environment
As an Engineering Manager - In Service Programmes with the ability to operate in a large, complex project at engineering management level, you will earn a starting salary of circa £68k and will be entitled to a range of excellent benefits, as well as huge career growth and training opportunities. This role would be classified as a flexible working position.
