Senior Finance Reporting Manager

Hybrid - Chatham/London office (3 days in the office, 2 at home)

Permanent Position



The Atlas Recruitment Group are currently searching for an experienced Senor Financial Reporting Manager with an advanced Insurance background. As a Senior Finance Reporting Manager you will take responsibility for financial accounting and reporting of the Society and Market.



Senior Finance Reporting Manager main responsibilities:

* Day to day management of the financial reporting function and team
* Responsible for the financial reporting for the Consolidated Society and subsidiaries in accordance with UK GAAP accurately and within timelines
* Responsible for the financial reporting of the Market in accordance with UK GAAP accurately and within timelines, including Pro Forma Financial Statements, Aggregate Syndicate Accounts, Schedule 3 and Managing Agents and FCA/PRA reporting
* Responsible for the preparation of the Half Year (interim) financial statements and Annual Report comprising the Market and the Consolidated Society
* Developing presentations and technical accounting papers to the Audit Committee
* Developing and maintaining accounting policies for the Society and in ensuring compliance
* Responsible for communicating requirements and guidance to the Market and in ensuring compliance
* Work closely with Central Finance teams (including Regulatory Reporting, Investor Relations, and FP&A), Markets, Corporate Secretariat and business functions and the Market to deliver financial reporting
* Develop and maintain a financial reporting risk register to ensure risks are identified, assessed, and mitigated appropriately.
* Develop staff in understanding the business, processes, performance of tasks, controls, and risks.
* Drive process and system improvements (including ledger) to increase efficiencies in the financial reporting function
* Provide support to the accounting function to ensure compliance with statutory, regulatory, and technical accounting requirements and to maintain internal controls.
* Lead internal Financial Reporting function and aid both internal and external auditors on a timely basis in the performance of their audits and in implementing recommendations agreed by management
* Deputise for the Head of Financial Reporting and Financial Reporting function as appropriate



Senior Finance Reporting Manager experience required:

* Qualified Accountant via qualification (e.g., ACA, ACCA or CIMA) plus 10 years PQE qualified by experience
* ECA Qualified
* Insurance background is essential
* Significant experience of financial reporting in an international, complex business
* Experience in a Group Head Office function and ability to work with a variety of stakeholders. Experience in ledger implementation or significant ledger improvements
* People Management
