Insurance Underwriter
Based – Folkestone
Hours – Full time Mon - Fri
Salary – £27-30,000 dep on exp
A great position has become available for an Insurance Underwriter, working for a company that has one of the best reputations and works well and closely with their existing team. You will need to be a real team player and this position is based in the office full time – no remote working is available.
The basic purpose of your job and the main duties are:
• To assess presented risks critically, provide quotations or decline to write the business strictly in accordance with Axis DA and Company
policy
• Issue documentation as required
• Ensure the Company operates within FCA and Axis guidelines
• Implement/overview any audit findings in conjunction with the Director of Operations
• Work closely with the Claims Department to identify and address business risks
• Support all colleagues to enhance team working within the Company
• Take responsibility for on-going personal development required by the Company and to fulfil FCA regulations
• Undertake any other duties as required to ensure the provision of customer service excellence
Skills and experience:
• Communication skills
• Understanding issues
• Finding solutions
• Gathering information
• Extensive knowledge of underwriting insurance policies
• An understanding of and experience of working within FCA regulations
• Display excellent team working/leadership skills
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office and Excel
