Department: Model Shop

Reporting to: Model Shop Manager

Purpose of role:

To create low volume but high-quality prototype store fixtures and small production orders from wood and associated materials.

Key Responsibilities:

· To carry out general joinery works as instructed by your line manager and ensure that the quality is of the highest standard required and within agreed timescales as assigned to the timings for production.

· To plan, monitor and process a range of production items for multiple projects ensuring that they are processed as per the customers’ requirements and within timing and quality expectations;

· To ensure all materials required to complete the task are available and were additional materials are required, order accordingly with your line manager

· To carry out daily routine maintenance checks and report any defects before use as per the company’s Health and Safety rules;

· To ensure that your workstation and machine working areas are kept in good clean and safe order;

· To ensure all department documentation is completed accurately and in accordance with company policy; and

· To dispose of waste materials as required and to company policy.

· Prepared to undertake additional training on CNC machine, as required and as defined by Line Manager in accordance with company requirements.

· To undertake any other duties as assigned by your Line Manager.

Requirements:

Desirable - Carpentry & Joinery basic understanding

Knowledge:

Desirable - Willingness to learn Workshop manufacturing processes, equipment operation and machine setting.

Experience:

Desirable - Basic understanding of working with laminates, veneers, MDF, solid timbers and solid surface

Skills and Attitudes:

Essential - · Attention to detail and quality – to ensure products sent out are of a high quality;
· Self-starter and resourceful –self-sufficient and able to minimise waste.

Personal qualities:

Essential - · A collaborative team player – helping others when necessary and work overtime (out of hours) to achieve deadlines and to assist the business.
· Positive and can-do attitude.
