The Role

This is an exciting, varied and challenging role and perfect for anyone who wishes to work with young people to support their aspirations to progress to University. You will deliver a range of talks and events in schools, colleges and on campus whilst also attending external recruitment events (locally and nationally) and playing a key role in open events at the University. The post holder will work closely with Recruitment and WP Officers as well as fellow Events Coordinators within the team to focus on the processing and delivery of recruitment and outreach activities to schools and colleges.

Requirements

You will be organised with a flexible, proactive approach to tasks and be able to work effectively under pressure. Confident and enthusiastic, you will work effectively as part of a team and have proven interpersonal and communication skills. The ability to work on your own initiative, without day-to-day supervision, is also vital. The SCE team’s office is based at the Canterbury campus and the role requires travel to schools and colleges in Kent and Medway and occasionally in neighbouring counties and nationally. Access to a car is preferred.

Additional Information

Canterbury Christ Church University is committed to equality of opportunity, supporting and encouraging underrepresented groups as well as valuing diversity. We promote wider inclusion through our policies such as the Race Equality Charter, StoneWall for LGBT+ groups and the Disability Confident Scheme, guaranteeing an interview to all disabled candidates which meet the essential criteria for our roles.

We aim to create an inclusive working culture in which all employees feel valued. We particularly welcome applications from disabled and Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic candidates, which are currently underrepresented throughout Canterbury Christ Church. We are committed to improving employment opportunities for ethnic minorities. We also welcome applications from LGB, Trans and Non-binary candidates. All applications decisions and progression opportunities through the University will be determined by personal merit only.
