Background

This is an exciting opportunity to join the existing team of Senior Lecturers in Practice Learning and support in Kent Community Health Foundation Trust in providing quality learning experiences for our students. This team have a pivotal post in raising the profile of the Faculty and practice learning and in enhancing relationships within the identified placement provider organisation. The Practice Learning Unit (PLU) sits within Health Learning and Teaching, a subset of the Faculty Office and is made up of a team of Senior Lecturers in Practice Learning and PLU Administrators.


Role

The post holder will work collaboratively with the Faculty Director of Practice Learning (FDPL), other Senior Lecturers in Practice Learning (SLPLs) and key staff in the Trusts to instigate a consistent approach to practice learning that meets programme, regulatory and university requirements across programmes and professions. The post holder will also work with the placement providers to enhance the practice and workplace learning experience, support the integration of theory with practice and make an academic contribution to the development of practice and workplace learning and assessment, through practice-based research, practice development and/or scholarship.


The Person

The post holder(s) will have relevant professional and teaching qualifications, an understanding of the regulatory requirements for practice learning and an ability to establish and maintain productive professional relationships with colleagues and external stakeholders. The post holder(s) will also be required to promote the work of the Faculty, implement systems and policies that manage risk and quality assure the practice learning and assessment experience.
