This is a fantastic opportunity to join our inclusive Kent Sport team as Strength and Conditioning Instructor.
You will lead the provision of strength and conditioning coaching and fitness testing for Sports Scholars and honorary athletes onsite whilst also facilitating sessions for external partners and customers. You will support the co-ordination of other elements of the Sports Scholarship Scheme completing administrational tasks, promoting Scholar performance and success as well as delivering both practical and theoretical workshops.
You will also compliment wider health and fitness operations through appointment delivery, fitness instruction and group exercise delivery, supporting the efficient and effective day-to-day running of the health, fitness and dance studio facilities at the University of Kent especially during non-Scholar delivery periods.

You will have a broad experience in strength and conditioning coaching and understand the needs of a range of athletes; you will be comfortable designing and prescribing bespoke sessions for individual and group training both on site and at external venues. You will be a team focused individual who can work effectively in a small group, contributing to the delivery of outstanding customer service ensuring a professional and positive user experience for all.

As Strength and Conditioning Instructor, you will:
• Lead, plan, and co-ordinate the delivery of strength and conditioning sessions for a range of athletes supporting the development of other staff including internships
• Act as the key point of contact and expertise with respect to strength and conditioning services and scheduling
• Support the Sports Scholarship Scheme with administration tasks
• Ensure optimal usage of Kent Sport’s health and fitness facilities, ensuring a positive user experience for all users. This will include the delivery of fitness appointments and services, ensuring user etiquette, light equipment maintenance and cleaning throughout the facilities, as required
• Support the Studio Timetable through the leadership of group exercise sessions for a variety of members
What we are looking for in the right candidate:
• A professional qualification in health and fitness (Level 2/3 Fitness Instructor/PT)
• UKSCA Accreditation/MSc in Strength & Conditioning (or equivalent standard professional body/or working towards Accreditation in the near future as a registered Strength and Conditioning Coach)
• Experience of Strength and Conditioning practice and prescription of working with a variety of high-performance athletes, coaches and performance partners
• Proven experience of working in a dynamic and service driven sports or health and fitness environment supporting clients with a variety of needs
• Excellent interpersonal skills including communication and leadership, as well as a passion for working in a team working towards a common objective with a flexible approach to working within a rota shift pattern supporting operational needs
