About the Department
Our IT Department has an award-winning reputation for outstanding customer service, modern, secure and stable technology. We are responsible for the design, build and support of all technical infrastructure, back-office applications, teaching and learning applications and data architecture.
As a Cyber Security Analyst in this role, you will be:
- Regularly reviewing security events that have been reported by monitoring tools or event logs and investigating anomalies to ensure the University is not being compromised
- Taking a lead in efforts to counter security breaches and anticipating and reducing the likelihood of future security alerts, incidents, and disasters
- Staying alert and informed on national/international cyber security alerts and advise on any implications this may cause the organisation
- Providing knowledge and experience on IT security including developing and delivering suitable training, development and promotional activities, including penetration testing and simulated phishing attacks
Experience required:
- Knowledge of and experience of working with ISO 27001 or other similar complex security standard
- Significant understanding and experience of IT security within a complex IT environment
- Knowledge of technologies used in cyber security
