Operations Manager

£35K - £40k DOE

The main job overview is to oversee the day to day management of the Company's operations, such as the sites Sea Terminals, ensuring effective and safe delivery of all operational activities undertaken on these sites in a compliant manner and in accordance with agreed business and financial objectives.

Duties include:

* Manage and allocate duties to all operational staff
* Oversee activities completed by the sub-contractors onsite
* Work with the plant workshop to ensure servicing and repair works are completed in a timely and cost-effective manner with consideration of the production demands
* Report findings to Senior Management on the output and production targets across all processing and operations
* Provide cover for other positions within operational roles where necessary
* Take full responsibility for the compliance of all operations at the Sites in accordance with all permits, permissions licenses, and regulations applicable
* Ensure that the Safety, Health, Environmental and Quality (SHEQ) system is integrated with organisational requirements in order to retain all ISO certifications and to meet all testing protocols and specification standards for material manufactured at the sites
* Ensure all appropriate safety equipment and PPE is used at all times and that all comply with all Health, Safety, Quality and Environmental policies and procedures
* Manage stock rotation and organise for purchase orders to be raised and issued in advance



The successful candidate will have:

* Solid experience in an Operations Management role within a "blue collar" logistics environment.
* Understanding of change management and site development from a multiple systems and processes perspective.
* Confident IT skills, particularly using MS Office, Sage Accounts, Cascade HR
* Experience within a manual work environment operating fixed and mobile plant
* Good communication and numeracy skills with the ability to collate and write effective reports.
* Tons of resilience, tenacity, and drive.



Qualifications and Certificates

* IOSH Managing Safely - essential
* COTC-WAMITAB Level 4 - ideal
* CPC (Transport) - ideal
