Job Title: Application Support Analyst

Salary: up to £33k – £38k DOE

This is full time 37.5 hr per week with some hybrid working.

Our client based in Dover is looking for an Application Support Analyst to provide expertise in development and application support of both in-house and bespoke software solutions; supporting the software development lifecycle and ensuring solutions satisfy business requirements and are proactively maintained.

Duties of the Post Holder

Gather solution requirements and input into relevant documentation or backlogs.
Perform tests and coordinate end user testing.
Provide initial post-implementation support and coordinate training/handover to the IT Operations team.
Anticipate and introduce new monitoring to track and troubleshoot applications.
Fault troubleshooting and resolution/escalation within a timely manner using the IT service management tool.
Maintain and create configuration and infrastructure in Microsoft Azure.
Maintain and create business reporting using SQL/database queries.
Maintain and create technical and functional documentation.
Liaise and work with third party support companies to ensure that work is delivered, or faults are rectified in a timely manner.
Maintain a strong stance on cyber security.
Work closely with the wider department, providing timely assistance and support as required.
Make suggestions for any projects or initiatives that would enhance existing or develop new IT services.
Take responsibility for self-development. Identify opportunities for training to keep skills current and to advance your knowledge in other areas of technology. Undertake technical and non-technical training as required.

Be flexible, as required, to cover annual leave and provide out of hours support as required by business needs.

The Ideal Fit Our Operation (Knowledge & Experience)

• Admin and support of software applications.

• Application testing & feedback.

• Microsoft Azure – App Services, SQL DBs, Monitoring, etc.

• Good understanding of web technology.

• Some knowledge or interest in software/web development – C#, HTML, CSS, JavaScript.

• Some knowledge of the Microsoft Power platform (Power Automate and Power Apps) or other Low-code/No-code alternatives.

• Some knowledge of SQL. Our Business (Practical Application)

• Can travel to Dover when needed.

• Self-starter and motivator with the ability to work autonomously.

• Comfortable managing own workload / timetable.

• Good organisational skills.

• Good communication and problem-solving skills, working within a team.
