Pearson Whiffin are currently recruiting for an enthusiastic, forward-thinking individual for the role of Deputy SENCO in the Medway area, on a full-time, fixed term basis, starting in September 2022.

You will be working with the wider teaching staff to ensure SEND teaching in the academy is creative, appropriate and effective and you will ensure that the school fulfills its statutory requirements about the SEN code of practice, ensuring that it is fully adhered to and implemented.

You will ensure all students have access to appropriate curriculum pathways and can reach and exceed their targets as well as oversee looked after children with the DLAC.

The ideal candidate will be:

* An experienced SEN practitioner
* Be able to lead on literacy development
* Confident, resilient, approachable and a good communicator
* Hold the National Award in Special Educational Needs Coordinator or be willing to gain this award
